The week after those Olympics shut down.. Went to visit a friend in Trondheim.. Flew into Oslo - almost plowed into a mountain.. holy cow.. I don't know if I was the only passenger to see it, since it was the red eye flight and the sun was barely coming up.. flew into clouds, finally came out of the clouds and right underneath us - looked like 30 feet away to me, but was probably 50 yards - was the statue on top on a mountain.. as soon as that came into view the pilot gunned the engines and pulled up.. I would have thought his terrain warning would have been blasting.. maybe it was and he was asleep.. Freaked me plumb out, tho..
Got there late.. had to catch my connecting flight, which had already taxied out.. they STOPPED the plane, ran a truck up to it with stairs, opened the door for me and I walked inside.. to the dirty looks of a sold out flight.. uncomfortable... yikes... and I think a LOT of Norwegians speak English, but not all, so I couldn't even explain it wasn't because I overslept or had to smoke a joint, or something, which I'm sure they all thought.. lol
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
