I was there to see the Rams play the Chargers in some riveting preseason action. Anyway, I was in the concourse of the Edwards Jones Dome when one of the swimming relays was on. Many people were gathered around a tv watching the event. As the race progressed the crowd began chanting USA quite loudly and they erupted when the US won the event. I thought it was quite cool to see. I remember Phelps dominating that Olympics.
I too am an Olympic fanatic. Canada's successes in the summer Olympics is usually quite modest, so I feel like I remember almost every gold medal. Living in Canada, we get both American and Canadian coverage of the games. The similarities and differences between how the games are broadcast always interests me, sometimes almost as much as the games themselves.
Anyway, I hope that these games are safe.
