The fear is for those over 65 or with comorbid illnesses, not the healthy or the young. Has everyone forgotten that the reason for the lockdowns was to prevent the health system from becoming overloaded? It was never to prevent all deaths.
The attack against the virus has morphed over time into an unreasonable attempt to prevent everyone from getting the virus. Shoot, my wife has asthma and she got it in December before I did. Her SARS Covid antibody test is high, indicating immunity, yet she is a part of the NM statistics of adults who haven't gotten the shot. My gosh, she's immune and she won't be giving it to anyone else!
The current immunization rate among those over 65 is more than adequate for continuing to reduce our USA death rate. The rest of the world still has issues, for certain. But this thread started as a discussion about the NFL. Other than the London games, which I don't think any are scheduled this year, it's only what happens in the USA that matters and in this country, the pandemic is petering out.
