A different type of diving

Steve does a wonderful job of filming his SCUBA dives in Belize. Always a pleasure looking at his amazing work.

On another level a friend of mine has put together a series of short videos focusing on Kimi Werner a Hawaiian free diver who I met on the big island when she was only 15 yrs old. She is beyond belief-can dive 100 ft and hold her breath for 5 min. plus. She has also speared more large game fish than most top notch free divers around.

There's also a vide sent to me showing her actually riding a huge white shark.

I think this gal is something else.





Here's Kimi riding the white shark-a pretty big female. Something I had never and will never do-although been a cage with them all around. That's enough for me.





As many know my longest and closest friend (one of several it seems) passed away during May of last year. Jay and I grew up together and here is a video that Kimi put together celebrating Jay's remarkable life of diving. In the beginning of the video arond .50 there are a series of still shots. One shows three kids. Jay in the middle with the camera -Bolex I think-Mike (the good looking guy) to jay's left (looking at the photo) and that's me to the right holding an old speargun.. We were all 15 at the time. Mike also died recently. Enjoy and stay close to your friends. You don't know how much you miss them until they are gone.
