from Mama's list was the Grassroots "Lets Live For Today".... for this reason:
We played this song in my first, well actually second band. "The Commons"... I began with them as a drummer, we used two drummers. BUT... the lead guitar and vocalist soon quit so I became the lead vocalist, putting aside the drums.
This was our first attempt at harmony bringing in all the members of the group. We did other songs with a little harmony but nothing at this level. So me, the lead guitar player, the bass player, and the organist spent more time, I think, getting this song down than any other song we played during our run as "The Commons". The drummer couldn't sing a lick so he was included.
Thinking about it now "Lets Live For Today" could represent the longest I ever spent learning a song with all the bands I've been in, right up to today.
