the federal government y constantly uses very conservative estimates in assessing risk and offering guidelines. not to get too off track but a good example is the federal guidelines on cooking red meat. The federal government tells you that red meat must be cooked to 145 degrees in order to be considered "safe" to eat. the reality is that a good rare steak can and should (imo) be cooked to an internal temp of 120 degrees. is 145 "more safe" yes, but an internal temp of 120 degrees is more then safe. so like masks, herd immunity, etc, the question is how much risk does one want to take and then what guidelines do you propose base on those assumptions of risk.
Except there is no risk to being vaccinated (or rather it's massively tiny) and there is risk in a population not being vaccinated.
Plus this idea that what we're dealing with is "the federal government," is not really the case. The information on covid, vaccines, and herd immunity all comes from several global established medical communities. When you hear a concert of these established medical institutions complaining that US federal government has it wrong, worry then. Until that happens such worries are just a distraction from the real issues.
IMO of course.
I don't see any examples of different national medical communities around the world doing it your way, and, maybe if there were some, you would have a case.
