I missed that, too. I've been wondering what they were going to do about the team name since I hadn't heard anything. Maybe they were too busy just trying to get through the pandemic to fool with coming up with a new name, branding, marketing, etc in 2021. Hopefully it'll all be in our rear view mirror in 2022 and they will have the time to address it properly.
I heard a segment on talk radio discussing this topic. A caller who claimed to work for a PR firm commented that, if he were advising the WFT, he'd advise them to hold off on announcing a team name.
He felt that, with the team not performing well, and the organization facing that cheerleader/sexual harassment lawsuit...not making any news is the best route for them to take right now. He believed that, announcing a team name now, would only lead to media outlets mentioning the negatives they're currently experiencing. However, if they're able to turn things around next season, then they could use the positivity to announce the name change and go from there.
