Pancreatitis, whether acute or chronic can be very serious. I was in a hospital for almost a week diagnosed with pancreatitis brought on by gallstones and alcohol abuse-the two principal causes of pancreatitis. Simply put, it is an inflammation of the pancreas which if not addressed can be fatal.. Your symptoms are precisely the same as mine happened to be at the time. It's normally treated in a hospital setting where your intake of food and liquids is severely limited until the inflammation dies down. And of course if no change in life style and alcohol consumption it can lead to pancreatic cancer which is untreatable due to the location of the pancreas. My suggestion would be to seek treatment from a good doc in the field of internal medicine and more specifically
Endocrinology. Good luck.
