Did you listen to the sounds from Mars? Well worth it, if you haven't... or at least it is for two space freaks like you and I.
Best guess, Seattle... year that a 'permanent' settlement is established on Mars? I used to think not long after my lifetime, (not IN my lifetime), but I'm not longer that optimistic. I do think it happens this century... but not soon. I'll go with 60 years from now... 2081. Lots will get in the way... politics, allocation of resources, etc.
