allowed rides, but it was stupid expensive.. the B-25 was around $300 a pop, but I thought it'd be cool, mentioned it to my wife, and she bought the tix for my birthday.. pretty cool surprise..
Sextant was for calculating position and whatnot from the stars, or something? Seems like I saw one go through the shop on the show Pawn Stars.. Pretty cool..
The one piece I've been looking for, for my ever growing collection of collectibles and memorabilia, is a swatch from the Red Baron's plane.. Several years ago, one came up in an auction I was following and it didn't sell.. I had inquired about it and the auction house contacted me and told me the seller would let it go for a VERY reasonable price.. I asked if they had an provenance or paperwork and they didn't.. all they had was the story of the guy who supposedly cut it off the plane.. I looked him up and he had been accused of selling fake Richthofen stuff, so I passed.. but, man that was tough to let it go..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
