I'm in Plano been here for 40+ years and haven't been inside. I've visited other air museums , just haven't the one close to home.
A couple years ago my cousin near Brownsville TX arraigned a up close tour of the local Commemorative Air Force ( Confederate Air Force was the original name ) museum for my dad . My then 93 year old dad , a B 17g pilot, enjoyed seeing planes he trained in back in 1943. The man with the CAF was very happy hearing my dads comments on the planes he'd flown they had and still fly.
A couple years ago in Phoenix I finally climbed inside a B 17 . I'm 6' 5" , my dad 6' 2" . I barely fit inside . You couldn't sit in either pilots seats, or go to the nose. I did stand in the top turret and where the navigator sat (a uncle was a navigator on a B 17) When I told my dad he laughed and said young guys fit inside easier.
