Years ago one of the policies I live by is that I don't lend money and I don't borrow money. That is the best way in the world to end a relationship so I just don't do it. I don't lend money to anybody... not relatives, friends, neighbors, nobody. And no sob story is going to be sad enough for me to change that. I've been known to GIVE money to my son and daughter, but I learned a long time ago not to expect it back. Thinking of it as anything else but a gift is fooling myself. I've learned as I've gotten older to say NO a lot more than I say YES.
