IMO you will love every bit of this series. I did not understand any of the strategies discussed in the series. This was all new to me in terms of how the Russians would attack as opposed to other competitors and how this would impact a young girl. Obviously there are some very smart young girls in the game today. But this was in the cold war and she was forced to battle all the obstacles that today are not likely to be as formidable. Yet she almost destroyed herself by giving in to her flaws. I've spoken to a few chess addicts and admitted I had no clue as to what was going on with the moves and the strategies. They tell me that everything portrayed in the series was accurate including each move depicted. Very inspiring and makes me want to learn the game.
