unless we were trying to talk - I do hate talking over loud music..
I think the volume comes from being musicians, because live we (you and I) play pretty dang loud compared to what people listen to on stereos.. And that's mostly due to drums - ya gotta turn up the guitar and bass loud enough to be equal - that volume alone is louder that most people will listen to music..
In the 80's I was known as the "loudest guitar player in Texas".. Not the "best", but the "loudest".. I played louder than anyone - and that includes Pantera.. When I would guest onstage with them I was shocked at how "not loud" Darrells (Dimebag's) amps were... To me it was all about the power and power from comes volume.. So, volume and me go way back..
But, I will say this: I don't like listening to music loud in a car.. never have.. now if a song comes on that I'm digging, I'll turn it up, but not any louder than my drumming on the steering wheel.. Cars that drive by with the street shaking from their subs - I kinda think they're idiots lol
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
