for you, but also for everyone.... my preference for "LOUD" is not due to my loss of hearing. I've always been that way, at least with music.
Today when watching movies it's NOT that... I just can't hear the dialogue; so volume, in this case, is due to loss of hearing.
Mind me being sexist? You probably do but I cant' help that... women, in general, (not all, not saying that), HATE loud music.. OR, I should say, music at the volume I like it. Movies as well.. but that's different.
Tonight... there are no rules. Now my neighbor.. I don't know... but I can say this... he, nor his wife, has ever ONCE complained about noise. True, he's ΒΌ mile away... but in the country you'd be surprised how far and loud sound travels. I know he's heard it, IOW.
ALSO... my neighbor and I are in sync... we both listen to Big Band... Crooners, like Bing Crosby. So he may just like it when my family leaves town and I'm left alone.
I have not, however, heard a single peep from his house in my lifetime... which is long as you know.
Got to end with this.. because it's only fair.. I promise you that 'loud' to you is not to me. When I speak of 'loud' I mean unbearable to most humans. I think the only person I know that will get that is sstrams.. pretty sure he's like that... although, just maybe, even he would be telling me turn it down. - JamesJM
