My Wife and I were gonna walk the area to look for her. I thought before we did, I would look thoroughly around the yard. I looked through the vines on our back fence and the morning sun lit the white on her neck. I could not see her when I came home yesterday from the station, to help my Wife look. But this morning, I could see her. She had been attacked by, more than likely, a Raccoon. Her back legs were a mess. The hardest part of the morning was going back through the house and to the driveway, where my Wife was waiting on me to do the walk to look for her. She saw my face and all I could do was a slight nod "no". We BOTH then lost it. We buried her with her food and water bowl in the backyard. I'm a grouchy cynical SOB who has seen a lot in my career and have lost TOO many family members and friends in the last 10 years but this morning for the last 2 hours and even right now, it has been water works city. I told my Wife it was God's will and the result of natural instinct of another animal. It's gonna be a long several looming days. THIS SUCKS!!
I'm sorry old friend. There's nothing I can say but we all know she had a good home. May she rest in peace.
