I remember when I was a wee lad, my mom and my sister were watching it.
Like most kids, I thought musicals were dumb. Why don't they just talk, you know?
When I got older, however, probably around the time that Chicago came out in theaters, I LOVED it! The plot, the songs, everything, What a great movie, I thought.
I still wasn't a huge fan of musicals, but at least I had opened myself up and watched one without my preconceived notions.
Over my twenties, there was an elevation in my tastes for theater and performance. I developed an appreciation and basic interest.
Sorry for the long wind-up, but I watched the new Mary Poppins with Lin Manuel Miranda. What a delight! Never new Emily Blunt was such a vocalist!
I haven't watched the original in 15+ years, but with you mentioning, I really, really want to watch it now with my more developed taste.
I made this completely about me; I'm sorry.
I'm glad you're feeling better. I didn't know you had COVID, I don't get on here very much anymore, so forgive me. Hope all is well, and wish you a healthy recovery, Jimmy.
