Broke a bone once, on a toboggan, where the bone was sticking out of my skin. I was about 12?
I remember the doctor, (at the hospital), asking if I could take a little pain. I said "yes'... idiot that I am. About 6 nurses took hold of me. Without anesthesia of any kind the doctor took hold of my arm and began to pull it back into place. Ouch.
Once 'reset', they x-rayed... wasn't right... so with a hammer... yes, literally a hammer, they re-broke it and tried again. Again, with NO anesthesia. I remember my Dad fleeing the room.
I remember screaming... not much else. - JamesJM
