Up until the car I got 2 years ago, every car I've owned since high school has been a stick. I finally decided to go automatic since I'm older and trying to simplify things somewhat. I'm hoping this is my last car, so I went automatic. I loved driving with a stick, but after doing it for 50 years, an automatic suits me now just fine. The stick was fun, but I don't miss it:
1965 Ford Mustang
1962 Volkswagon beetle
1970 Volkswagon beetle
1984 Mazda 626 2-door hatchback
1990 Mazda 626-LX
2000 Mazda 626-LX
2015 Toyota Camry (my first automatic)
As you can see, I haven't owned that many cars in my life. As long as they work, I keep them and drive them till they're ready for the junk heap. I bought all of my Mazda's brand new and drove them for years.
