I've never been interested in astrophotography... that is, to get really into it. I wish I WAS, it would be great, but it's never been something I wished to pursue.
Maybe that has changed, and this photo may have done it... as HORRIBLE as it is. I was trying, once again, to get a video of a meteor.. failed. But in trying I found all kinds of things I can do with the camera on my iPhone. I didn't understand ANY of them, well, a few.. but damn few. So anyway...
Bored of missing out on a meteor I decided to try a photo or two. The above is the result. That's Jupiter, in the upper left, and below, filling the photo, is Sagittarius, my sign. (Look for a teapot, it will be pouring out to the lower right. left is the handle, right is the spout).
Looking thru the camera when I snapped this photo it looked like crap... and sure, I know, it still does... but not to me... because it actually came out MUCH better than I thought it would. I didn't even use a tripod.
Astrophotography might be something I'd like to try, (with a new telescope). I'm not really VERY motivated to do it for a very simple reason.... there is nothing in the sky I can take of photo of that hasn't already been photographed FAR better than I could ever achieve... EXCEPT...
That's Sagittarius, my sign, with Jupiter... (wasn't thinking because I could have got Saturn as well, maybe tomorrow night). I made it 'personal', in other words. Make sense to you? Yeah... I think so. - JamesJM
