Well according to theoretical physics anyway warp drive is possible. What warp drive does is move a unit of space. Space itself is not restricted by the speed of light, it can move as fast as it wants. In fact there are galaxies moving away from us faster than the speed of light because what's actually happening is space itself is expanding--and nothing limits the "velocity" of its expansion. So in theory, you can manipulate a unit of space to move many times the speed of light.
