I wrote about that movie before on this board...

I really don't think any horror movie I've ever seen in my life got to me more than "The Other". IF you are referring to the early 1970 movie written by Thomas Tryon... there are several 'The Other" films, tv shows.

There is a scene that movie featuring the actor Lou Frizzell that is THE most horrific scene I have EVER seen in film, OR read in a novel. I think I can reveal a spoiler because after all... who is going to watch it? The scene where he discovers the body in a barrel. And I do NOT mean 'scary'... I'm not even going to try to describe that type of horror.

Another thing about that movie that disturbs me.. as I mentioned, Thomas Tryon wrote it... a DISNEY actor for the love of God. How in the HELL can a Disney actor, (from then, not today, today it's quite easy to understand)... come up with something so horrific?

Seriously, not horror movie I've ever seen disturbed me more than this movie... not Rosemary's Baby, NOT the Exocist, NOT Psycho, NONE of the others. This is the champ. - JamesJM

P.S.... the 'horror' I'm describing is NO rating of the movie itself... haven't seen it in years... could be a poorly made, I don't know.

"Duel" was another early 70s TV flick that spooked me as a kid.
