love that those older bands, soloists, groups, are still active... at least in some way.
I have always done a lot of research about actors, movies, but it never really occurred to me to check on music: that is, older singing groups, bands. Did a little of it yesterday. I checked on two... Moby Grape and Strawberry Alarm clock.
It's not often happy news regarding those older groups, so many of them have passed on, and many passing on quite early in life. Anyway...
With both those two I listed they are still 'somewhat' active... HOWEVER... almost none of the original artists are still with them. IOW... it's 'name only'.
Remember me talking about the guy who was visiting my cousins Dude Ranch up north and used to sing for the Drifters?.... Probably in his 70's. We spent a full evening playing with him, allowing him to sing... then after the gig hanging out til dawn jamming. He still had it.. It was really incredible when he would burst out in song... his voice just filled the room... so resonant, deep. He wasn't with the Drifters very long - the Drifters were not like most of the other famous singing groups back then, (although they were famous), in that they changed singers often. - JamesJM
