They say the heart never heals completely after the loss of a loved one. You eventually learn to manage the grief but the vacancy is always there. Lost my mother several years ago and while I can't , with honesty, say I miss her every day, I do have moments when I just wish I could call and say "how are you doing mom". Lost my best friend a few weeks back and another just a week ago. Now our closest neighborhood friend is dying with only a few months to live. With COVID and all-this has not been a good year.
