We went through that with Hydroxychloroquine and Chloroquine. Early on some medical people offered some anecdotal claims that those drugs helped. Studies showed they do not help and in fact many of the studies have been stopped because they were too dangerous.
In terms of the idea that viruses just go away---uh, some do and some don't, right? Which is why we need measles vaccines.
It took the Spanish Flu three years to quiet down and in the process killed millions.
Just looking at one or two studies is wishful thinking on a scavenger hunt. The REAL work is done when there is abundant scientific consensus. Not, one guy here says this.
When several major sources of top-caliber medical info (like Johns Hopkins etc etc) are all saying the evidence is in, you have a case.
Until then it's just looking at a dot on the horizon, which may or may not be real.
