DaJudge- The most common way to spread the virus is respiratory droplets...cough, cough, sneeze, sneeze.
- A mask mutes the wide ranging explosion of respiratory particles during such coughs and sneezes.
- It's really not that complicated.
Funny how some of you see yourselves as Braveheart characters fighting for your freedom when in reality you're just fighting against common sense. .
It doesn't even have to be coughing or sneezing. It can just be ordinary talking.
That's important because with this virus, people can transmit it without even knowing they're infected. They can be presymptomatic or asymptomatic and still transmit it--just through talking.
So yeah agreed masks are crucial.
.....
A .007% chance of even catching the virus hardly qualifies as crucial.
Based on what? That number is bogus because it's based on cases v. the entire population. But that's not how a virus works. Your chances of catching it are greater if you're around a hot spot where people have the virus. So the percentages are different depending on where you are.
The issue with masks btw is not catching it--ordinary masks can't prevent that--it's spreading it. So most of the people who whine about "having to wear a mask" (lol) are complaining about their freedom to spread the virus. Cause unless you're tested you could easily not know whether you have it.
,,,,
Exactly! Why should everyone be held to the same standards as New York or other hot spots? And stop with the sanctimonious balogna. You don't "know" any better than anyone else how the details are going to play out. But the fact is, the experts and the media have been wrong all along the way. Arguing that they are to be believed now is just ludicrous.
Because it spreads. Just a matter of time. But it is false to say your chances of getting it are 0.007%. That number changes with time.
In fact several places that relaxed their vigilance are now seeing spikes in hospitalizations. In a couple of those places it is nearing emergency levels.
