I have had many encounters with various wildlife... nose to nose with a black bear, couple feet from a mountain lion, got struck on my boot once by a rattlesnake, (it did not penetrate), bulldozed by a buffalo that launched me several feet into the air, stomped by more cattle than I can count.... and many, several, others.... but the most vicious attack I ever received was from a common, ordinary, house cat.
I really think the vast majority of people are clueless about just how ferocious, AND effective, a common every day house cat can be. And no, for pete's sake, I'm NOT picking on house cats... truth is this 'ferocity', considering their size, is cause for admiration on my part. They are extremely intelligent animals... and they aren't about to take on a full grown human UNLESS they have no other choice... but once they do? Frankly... I like my chances against a mad Doberman more than against a 'bent on death' house cat. - JamesJM
