My grandfather, Dad's side, was a huge fan of the heavyweight fighter Primo Canera. Primo was Italian, of course.
This was before TV, long before.. and my Dad and his brothers were just kids. My grandfather would listen to the fights on his Philco Radio... but reception was bad. SOOOO... he formed his 3 sons... My Dad and his two brothers, into a "bucket brigade" to run buckets of water from the pump house to the ground wire for the Philco radio and keep the ground wire wet... which would greatly improve reception.
The entire fight the boys had to keep that ground wire wet or there was HELL to pay.
