Been putting it off but also getting everything JUST right with research on colors / camo etc. The model is made by Trumpeter. Pretty good quality. I even bought extra sets o1/350 TBD Devastators. I intent to have 15 of them on the deck in honor of Torpedo #8 at Midway. The REEEEEAL challenge is gonna be getting the wavy camp pattern along the waterline and stripes up the island JUST RIGHT. IMO, it will make or break it. I also bought brass photo etched railings and replacement parts such as the radar and a more detailed deck crane. Unlike my 1/350 USS Lexington, I do not plan on spending over a year and a half on it. I do better work when I get into a groove. With the Lex, I would find myself going 2-3 months and not touching it.
I have wanted to build this kit for YEARS. My Wife surprised the hell out of me when she bought it 2 years ago. I wanna get it right!! And that means.......There will be profane words used as I move along! LOL
