Pedersen was my favorite. Just liked his "boyishness" and enormous power (36 HRs last season-most of which went over the moon). Verdugo will eventually be an all star. Betts is not just good but clearly a potential HOF player. They also get David Price an aging but once great pitcher. Who knows how this will turn out -just sad to see Pedersen go-but he's going to the Angels so will get a chance to see him even more given the Direct TV issue with the Dodgers.

Hope this all turns out well. However, my experience after watching the Dodgers since 1951 is that they always do better with staying within their farm system. Here they have now lost 3 from their well respected farm in order to acquire a one year rental. Seems too often great players come here only to be "soft" and no longer "great" but just OK.

Hoping for the best-but as always, very concerned about bring in good players who for unexplained reasons don't pan out as expected. Hate to be (no I don't) repetitive but I do think the soft weather has "something" to do with it. Oh yes-one can point to exceptions but I'm thinking in broad general terms. Just one small example: Machado-great, great, HOF player with the Orieals-comes to So Cal (Dodgers and Padres) and becomes a "good" player-but that's all.

The key to me is keep the guys in the farm system in the Dodger organization so they don't experience other "tougher" areas to play (i.e. east coast) and then come to "soft" So Cal. Hoping Betts is the exception.
