we moved from spot to spot... so I sat every everywhere except the pilot seat. I did sit co-pilot.
Sure I told you this before but my most fun 'flights' ever, for 'flying'... as pilot in command, not just riding.. was in a J3 Cub... if you've never flown in one do it. It's fantastic... you can open the passenger side panel so it's almost like open cockpit. You putt-putt thru the air, cars on the ground passing you by
. They can be bumpy but that just adds to the fun. On a windy day you can get airborne instantly, and land just as abruptly.
Anecdote - when getting my license I was flying my first cross country 'solo' flight, 3 legs that have to be 100 nautical miles each. My first destination was Monterey, Ca.... pretty big airport. I was terrified about landing 'long' and missing the first taxiway so I could get out of the way of the big passenger jets coming in... so I was locked in, determined to set her down and make that first taxiway. I did... I more than made it. In fact, I was landed and nearly at a stop just a few feet beyond the runway threshold.
I had to go full power and take off again to get to the first taxiway exit.
