although IowaRam's winters are insane so that's definitely X'd out.
What's the wind along the Maine coastline like? Wind, perhaps, I tolerate less than cold. My son lived on the Oregon coast for a time... amazingly beautiful, and the temperatures were tolerable, even in winter... but the wind never stopped.... it drove me nuts, especially the noise of it.
Wind isn't bad, not here anyway. We're in a bay.
Actually if you take a straight line from my house 3 or 4 hundred yards there's the bay. But there's a cliff. So when strong wind comes in with storms, it goes OVER my treeline. Once years ago, in some classic storm, it was the loudest wind I ever heard--like a moaning jet engine. But it was all above my tallest trees. The clouds were low, the wind was howling like nothing I have ever heard before, but down on the ground everything was quiet and still. One of the spookiest/funnest moments I;ve experienced. But that was a big storm. Wind is normally okay around here.
But YES if a winter dragging into early April bothers you, then northern New England aint yer kinda place.
