When my son lived in Oregon. He lived in Florence, Oregon, on the coast. Strange... black bears live IN town... they don't 'visit' town, they live right IN the town. They wander the Fred Meyer parking lot, stroll down and IN the school yards, go from house to house hoping the occupants had a BBQ recently.
No black bears where I live. I have skunks, possums, lot of king snakes, the rare badger, lots of wild cats, and occasionally a wandering coyote. Nothing dangerous.
