I believe they had a kid who who turned out to be a decent ball player. They gave him a first name of "Manny".
As far as the TV you may have been thinking of it may have been a Packard Bell. They had several in beautiful cabinets with a record player inside along with radio that played something they called "FM". That was big time.
I can't recall our 1st tv or if we ever had one-growing up. But I remember the 1st tv my wife and it was a hand down. It was a Hoffman Easy Vision. It was only about a 6" screen but had a magnifying bubble in front to make it larger. The problem was you had to look at it straight ahead or else nothing was in proportion.
