Time does fly. But did you know that it flies differently for each of us ? I.E. You are standing directly in front of me with an identical stop watch as mine. They both are in sync. We start at precisely the same time and 30 minutes later we end at the same time. Our watches will no longer be in sync. Simply put, while we cannot detect the difference there will be an imperceptible difference proving time is relative to each of us.
In short Einstein's theory of relativity states that time and space are not as constant as everyday life would suggest. He suggested that the only true constant, the speed of light, meant that time can run faster or slower depending on how high you are, and how fast you are travelling.
Now, if you consider that time has been with us for millions of years the inescapable consequence is that it is quite possible in the watch example above you just might be talking to someone who lived hundreds of years ago and doesn't now exist -only his memory which is who you are talking to. I know its weird but all of us here-on this board-are really from different spacial time periods and only exist in our individual minds. Simply put, you all are part of MY world even though each of you have your OWN world which none of here may even be a factor.
I need another Scotch before I take my dog outside for our nightly conversation-which is primarily unilateral.
