As a rule of thumb, I *think* you see greater sportsmanship in events that are individual like athletics, golf and even tennis.
Because of the timing and work commitments I haven't seen much more than snippets, so you could well be right, I honestly don't know.
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
