#2 MASH "Death Takes A Holiday"....While a Christmas party is going on at the 4077th, Hawkeye and Hunnycut try to keep a soldier alive beyond Midnight so his family will not think of Christmas as his day of death. Been a while since I saw this episode but I recall they do not succeed. But Hawkeye simply pushes the clock past Midnight for the official time of death. Very moving episode.
#1 All In The Family "The Draft Dodger" Meathead has a draft dodging friend, down from Canada, over for Christmas dinner. At the same time, Archie has invited a Gold Star Father of the Vietnam War over also. I played this on Youtube not too long ago. I tell ya, it builds up to the last 5-10 minutes at the dinner table. That 5-10 minutes I call arguably the most powerful moment in a TV show. As heavy as this episode is, it has one of my favorite Archie moments when he tells Gloria..."DON'T GIVE ME THE CONSTIPATED FACE!"
