I watched a movie the other night with my wife that was so emotionally draining, anxiety producing and heart wrenching that we both regretted watching it. My chest/heart was reeling. I tried for hours to distract myself but ended up going to bed still messed up. The next morning it was still with me and all through the day I thought about the movie... and still now.
I'm still not sure whether or not I wished I had seen it. It was very well made and the acting for the most part was excellent. But I guess it was the subject matter and I think it played on my parental instincts. I'm not going to say what the movie was because I am sure my reaction will color the viewing for someone else. I'm just surprised at how it affected me.
So no more dramas for me. From now on just action and sci-fi and maybe a comedy here and there. Jeez.
