TWA 800 like my life depended on it.. Very little about that case I don't know.. A brief rundown was that 750 witnesses saw TWA 800 shot down by a missile in 1996, but the NTSB conclusion was that the center wing tank, which was empty of fuel, exploded in mid-flight by a "spark of unknown origin" and the "missile" that everyone saw was actually the plane with the nose blown off going straight up in the air like a roman candle.. even tho TONS of witnesses, including pilots that were in the air at the same time, saw missiles originate from the land and travel upward, strike TWA 800, which then exploded, and immediately sank like a rock..

Its a fascinating story with about as much controversy as the JFK assassination..
