The place we had the contract on was bought by another buyer... while we were trying to sell our house. There was a 72 hour contingency that gave us 72 hours to buy the house whether we sold ours or not. We couldn't do it. As for trying to sell our home, I bet every realtor asked us about the tub... Its a nice albeit dated bathroom but with the tub like that none of the prospective buyers were interested. We even said we would do a significant allowance to fix it. I think its just a let down and we are competing with a slew of new/never-lived-in houses on the market with nice contemporary bathrooms.
Anyway, its just as well because we fell in love with the lot directly on the pond. And we probably always would have always wondered whether we would have been happier waterfront. So we bought the lot on the pond and now we are preparing to build. But we still have to sell this house.
As for this tub... I am just a few days and an ounce of gumption away from taking a hammer to it.
