Which doesn't REALLY have anything to do with this subject, but so to does..
I have always wanted to hook eh iPod up to the home surround sound system.. I also have always wanted to have speakers in every room and the ability to affect the volume for each room - so if I'm jamming something in the living room and I hafta do something elsewhere, I can still jam in that room, as well.. So.....
I got the iPod hookup which works GREAT - even has a remote control to control the iPod.. I can also hook the iPad up to it which is easier to read for me..
I got a new surround sound receiver to replace the Nakamichi which, for some reason no longer saves my settings when I turn it off.. So, I hafta fiddle with it for 20 minute during every movie..
I got another gadget that splits the speakers signals into as many as 6 different signals, all with an on/off button and volume for each channel that goes to a separate room..
I got a wad of Klipsch speakers to mount in every room
Today I had to drill a hole in the wood framing of the house in the attic to run the speakers cables down the wall to the receiver - it was like a 4"x4" - never thought I'd get through it..! got the speaker cables run down the wall and drilled a hole in the wall and fished all the speaker cables through the hole - no easy task.. I then added a nice plate specifically designed to cover the hole and make the whole mess look nice..
Tomorrow's plan is to mount at least one set of speakers and hook everything up and try it out.. it gets WAY too hot in the attic in Texas to work past 10am.. Once done I can set the iPod on the dock and crank the living not out of some tunes in every room - or whatever room I want..
