To be sure, Connery was a lot like the current Daniel Craig. Tough & serious. But Moore was also tough. Had that Bond intellect, charm, and wit...., and especially.... 'cool'. I also liked the humor Moore brought to the role. Not quite as serious as the others. And he was of MY time....
I'm glad to hear he made it to a grand old age of 89!
