The for the past 16 years, Giants games in Sept have been meaningful. As a fan, it's good to be in the hunt.
Sure, 60 years was a long drought but winning 3 rings in 5 years is something most teams never do.
28 years is a long time too. It should be longer because Mickey Hatcher and those Dodger scrubs had no business being in the playoffs in 1988..,
They were better this year with their trades, but still gave up solid prospects. But in the past, they've decimated their farm system to bring in some guy in his 30s who then leaves for free agency the next year. Loved that they won three championships in this decade. But I think they could have done it without giving up the farm (system).
Next year, they desperately need some young (power) bats, and a serious closer or two. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they have much to choose from in the minors, so will likely have to go FA again.
