Franklin Stubbs? Steve wild arm Sax? Alfredo Griffith? John Shelby? Sharperson???? what kind of infield was that????
Gimp Gibson???
The only bonafide talent was Scosia and Orel.
28 years and counting, Dodgers sold their soul for that one.
Mickey Hatcher indeed.... they never should've got past the Mets in 88 to get to the series... One thing about that Dodger team, I give Lasorda credit.... and I still crack up on his WS speech during the parade.....
Ross, Ishi, Burrell contributed,...... it's the Giants culture that finds these guys year in and year out, but it's the core that get's them to October........... BTW Gillespe was originally drafted by the Giants.
I don't think Sabien would waste time on the Puigs of the world...... Culture beats strategy almost every time..... I can't complain what Bochey and Sabien have fostered with the Giants the past decade...
BTW, I feel very sorry for Dusty... I for sure thought that the Dodgers would hire him to replace Don Mattingly last season....
As I watched that game last night, I couldn't help but think of Baker... very brutal playoff loses with the Giants, Cubs, Reds, and not Nats..... poor Dusty can't get a break.... I am a big Dusty Baker fan.....
BTW, I was shocked Roberts pulled the starter after striking 6 batters in 3 innings... it worked....
