Not about the worlds longest gig, or the history of my bands.... but about the photo itself.
I just 'assumed' this was "Buckskin" because of who sent it to me... when I first looked at it I didn't spot a member, or two, but I thought little about that. Buckskin DID play in that parade... but that's not Buckskin.
Here's what finally clued me in.... my drums, they're red. That's my old Ludwigs. This is The Mountain Oysters... Rick, bass player on the left - Gary, lead singer just to his left - and me where I noted. This was the previous year to the Buckskin performance in the parade, (maybe two years before).
With Buckskin I started off with my first brand new set of drums... dark wood color.
So this photo is 1979 at the very latest. And to be even MORE honest, allowing for my poor memory... we played in that parade several times... this photo could possibly be as early as 1973. - JamesJM
