There is an island (San Clemente Island) roughly 60 miles off the So Cal coast. There is a protected anchorage on the lee side that seldom is used by boaters for some reason. At night the view is priceless as the stars are fully seen as is the lights in San Diego and L.A. Two weeks ago we were on a dive trip and anchored there for dinner and overnight. A few hours later two boats anchor next to us and put out these lights that light up the entire side of the island so you can't see the stars or for that matter anything else. After a few words and no change we had to pull anchor and motor around the point to another anchorage where there were boats with stereos blasting, etc. What's wrong with enjoying nature by itself-pure nature.?
