Might have posted this before but what the hell? Ah the glory days. These are my Aggies. I'm on the far right... beard and bellbottoms. My asst. coaches George, far left, and Tracy next to me.
In the mid 70's me and 5 other guys put together my home town's first youth football team, (franchise
). The Tranquillity Aggies were born. I was the first head coach... and remained so for the next, oh, 12 years or so - moving on to coach High School for another 4 years. Many of my fondest memories came from this team.
My grandkids were, and are, Kerman Lions... Red and White. I haven't been to an Aggie's game in years, unless we played them... and when we do, I'm conflicted. I root for my grandson's first, and always.... but when it comes to colors... my heart is Blue and Gold.
Today the Tranquillity Aggies Facebook page posted this photo. (my copy was lost when my home burned down in 1991) George and I still meet regularly, he's a life long friend. Tracy as well but I don't see him as much these days. George's grandkids also went to Kerman and George has now been a permanent Chain Gang member for the Kerman Lions for years. When George and I meet, every Kerman Lions game, wearing "Red"... we always greet each other the same way.... with a bit of a scowl having to wear Red instead of Blue and Gold.
