Also, since I missed it when it first aired, I've been watching the old television medical series House, M.D. Lupus is one of the fallback diagnoses discussed many times during the show when the diagnostic team has no clue what's wrong with the patient. In 8 years and 177 episodes of House, lupus was the actual diagnosis just ONCE (season 4, episode 8). However, the possibility that lupus could be the diagnosis comes up on the show time and time again. The Gregory House character finally resorted to saying "It's NOT lupus. It's NEVER lupus" on practically every show. Although not meant to be funny or a running joke, it inadvertently became one because it came up so frequently. I have a personal interest in the disease because I was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythamatousus when I was 23 and it's caused me some grief over the years; so whenever I hear them bring that up as a diagnosis, I am keenly interested. There are lots of different House, M.D. shirts you can buy on the internet but I decided to make my own. I can't wait to wear it the next time I have a doctor's appointment.
