If I was Andrew Friedman and I thought there was no way the team would end up in the World Series-here is what i would do:"Sell" Bellinger, Muncy, Turner (JT), Kimbrel. The loss of Pollock has really hurt the Dodgers in terms of who they can play in the outfield. And Kiki would have given the team a lot more in flexibility in both the infield and outfield. They also miss the power and threat of Joc. As far as Freeman goes-if you see the games on TV he appears far more friendly to the opposing teams players than with his own team.
And lets talk a little about the umpires calling strikes and balls. If that rectangle you see on the TV screen is accurate what's happening is this: Given the speed of today's slider and the age of today's umpires there is no way they can accurately determine what is or isn't a hard slider thrown that breaks (slides) to the outside and low of the batter. No way ! The plate Ump can track the ball (thrown at yesterday's fastball) to a few feet in front of the plate but then it breaks and there is no human way an accurate call can be made by an umpire in his 50s-60s.
In sum-we're in first place and we're close to being the Emperor without clothes.
Sorry Belli, Max, and Justin-we all love ya-but your done !
