I think their is actually only two original members left in the band , but that's usually the case with any band that's been around as long as they have
Arnolds Park here at Okoboji have concerts all Summer long , and some pretty big names at that , but through out the Summer , Arnolds Park will put on some free concerts , and last night was one of those concerts , The wife and I , and a bunch of friends I went to school with went to the concert
This is the second time we've seen Foghat , always brings us back to when we were in school cruzin around in Jeff's 1974 Dodge Dart with Foghat Live crank'in
They put on a really good show , they sounded great , I don't remember the name of the singer , but the dude can sing ,
Now the reason I bring this up , was not so much about bragging that I got to go see Foghat , but
They hold these concerts in a place they call Preservation Plaza , it's basically just a big open space with a pretty nice stage down by the lake , probably holds around 4,000 people , and usually during the concert , the whole space is open
Except for last night , they actually fenced off the first 8 or 9 rows , called it the VIP section , and it wasn't even half full , but it was mostly well dressed 60 year old couples who just sat there ,
I over heard one of the security guards saying it was a corporate sponsors decision , but I do need to point out , If I would have taken a picture of the people behind me , there was about 3,000 people at this concert , most of which were all kicked back in lawn chairs , drinking Budweiser and eating Godfathers Pizza
Over all , it was great concert, although it was a pretty mellow concert for a rock concert,, definitely a family friendly place to go see a show , plus the weather was awesome , The crowd did get a little livelier there towards the end , they took down that fence for like the last 3 or 4 songs
Probably would have been a totally different concert if they didn't have it fenced off for the first 3/4 of it
Had a great time though
Here , I took a picture of it , so I wanted to ask you fellas who are in bands , it must be tough to put on a show , when that first bunch of rows is dead quiet , especially if you're a hard rock band , I'm assuming you feed of the crowd
short video from last nights show here , the video isn't mine
